Considerations
More than once in the past few days, I’ve been a hair’s breadth from building a fire and dropping in the Book to the Third Age. I’ve even been as close as gathering the scraps of wood and tinder before pausing and deciding against it. The churn of emotions in me has only now begun to settle. The things I saw in that ruined D’ni village caused such fear and anger in me. These savage creatures had caused the end of an entire community, and then used their Linking Book to continue their blood-hunt in another world!
I wanted to seal that world off forever.
My fear is being weighed against my curiosity, like a soul in the afterlife, a heart against a feather.
I may yet return to the Third Age.
Seize the moment of excited curiosity on any subject to solve your doubts; for if you let it pass, the desire may never return, and you may remain in ignorance.
