Uh oh, it looks like that hardware incompatibility has become a serious problem. Unless he tried to get the dictation software to run on his KI. :-?

Bloody technology irritates me to no end sometimes. Apparently version 2.4 is far worse for this hardware than the other.

Will, did you get the information to access this journal that I sent you? Hopefully that will help you solve this puzzle.

Yep, I found you PG. I think I know what the prob is but can you dump the error logs from your device and email em to me? You also still owe me the thing’s system specs.

I’ll get on it as soon as I’m able to man.

Ciao,
~Will

Version updates and Hardware incompatibility can be a pain in the ___. >.< At least you know the person behind the software and can get the incompatibility fixed. Hope this is fixed quickly for you.

As do I. I would hate for you to get into some trouble with this thing as your only means of communication and us stuck here at the other end trying to figure out what it was you said!

The linking book here doesn’t work anymore.

“th?s [unintelligible] is a t3st o.f well!s .ew s0ftwa… I hop?etiss [unintelligible]..wi?ll f!ks the sud3n..conflict betw3n.t.. [unintelligible]and ?.y hardw10/6re. [unintelligible][unintelligible] T?sti.g t.sntig [unintelligible] oNe t??????o th.re.e.”

this is a test of [??] software… I hope[?] will f[?]ks the sudden conflict between [??] and [??] hardware [????????] one two three.

I don’t get anything out of it.

It is remotely possible that there may be nothing wrong with the Autodictation software…..In the 3rd Jaren Age it indicates permanent May 6 (which is when Giles first arrived, I think..) but recognises a day/night cycle (Hours)…Because Time is frozen there ?..Dunno. In the next discovered age it fails to communicate with any server and defaults to an infinity date/time. Are these hints of a true “Time-Travel” Ahnonay ? Yep, we gotta see the specs, please, Giles…..THank You

You got some smart peeps reading your thing PG! That was the first thing I checked Abjab! I thought that maybe whatever the hell makes you go to another planet would screw up the internal clock on the PDA, but it’s a no-go. The PDA is smart enough to “ignore” whatever crazy place you might be in. It has no idea where in the world Carmen Sandiego is :) all it knows is, it’s 12:03 PM on Earth.

Big G, if you’re checking this which I bet you totally are, I think i’ve got ya a new version to try.

I’ll email it to you, still giles@garternay right? Remember to wipe your cache and for goodness sakes, update your firmware this time!

Wow ! Smart Software….Thanks Will….for the kind words and the insight..But I’ll bet that PG finds some way to stress test it anyway !

:D Aw, the wonders of “stress” testing something useful. And finding the odd stuff that could go wrong. Been there done that and amazed some tech at my ability to find the oddest of bugs. Still makes me laugh when ever I think about the amazement at my luck with weird bugs.

Serendipity Rules ! StarCat….But DON’T tell ‘em about the really good ones….that’s what makes it so shareably enjoyable !
No Software is complete without the requisite number of bugs….I think it was a Native NM culture thing from way back……perhaps..?
I wonder what Bugs PG will create to confound us ….?
